Lyn Diefenbach - Wow factor (florals in oils)

The pursuit of masterly quality and technique is a high prority for Lyn Diefenbach.  Her work covers a myriad of subjecy matter, with her bold florals recieving accolades mationally and internationally.  Lyn's ability to communicate her ideas has entrenched her as a resoected and sought-after tutor, with teaching engagements internationally and across Australia.  Lyn as accepted into the International Guild of Realism in May 2008 and has Master Pastellist status with the Pastel Society of Australia.

Learn to create paintings that are full of luminosity and life.  This workshop will assist you to a greater understanding of the relationship of line, tone, colour and edge to enable you to infuse your work with dimensionality.  There willbe a strong emphasis on colour recognition and mixing the palette.  The technical and compositional challenges of florals till be investigated with information given on achieving the illusion of suface quality. There will be plenty of demonstrations as well as individual attention and critique.

Maryika Welter - Mixed Media with Acrylics

Maryika is an award winning Queensland based artist who was born and raised in country Victoria.  At present she tutors and paints mainly with mixed media and has an interest in texture, colour, design and printmaking.  She has studied Visual Art in Adelaide, South Australi and then later in Toowoomba, Queenslnad. Her work was accepted and exhibited at the Queensland Museum, diring the 8th Festival of Polish Visual and Performing Arts in 2000 and 2001.  More recently her work has been exhibited at the Florence Internationsl Contemporary Biennale and Ferrara Italy.

Using mainly acrylic paint and mediums, we will be exploring a variety of techniques, transparent glazing, collage, texture and some experimental work that may just appear as if out of nowhere.  It is important to be able to let fo  limitations and be free to play.  Developing the individual's Imagination will be incoporated and hopefully we will briefly look at some colour and line work to round off the weekend.
